Introducing a new fountain pen collaboration between Sailor and Satellite Crayon Project! The Fountain Pen of the Seas explores the natural colors of the Earth. This limited edition series features shades of the sea captured in satellite imagery from space, showcasing the diverse hues created by Earth’s rich natural environments.
In 2022, Satellite Crayon Project, based in Japan, began using colors captured by satellite images to create high quality, original crayons. Based on the actual colors of the Earth, the crayons also enumerate the latitude and longitude of the location where the color was sampled.
The Fountain Pen of the Seas comes in two colors and two sizes: Pro Gear Standard with a 21K gold nib and Pro Gear Slim with a 14K gold nib. The pens are inspired by the waters surrounding specific coordinates, with finials corresponding to specific natural features in the surrounding areas.
With Sailor’s characteristic quality and craftsmanship, each pen honors the Earth’s colorful landscape. This limited edition collection also features 3 new inks to choose from: Eleuthera Island (turquoise), Amami Oshima (navy blue), Syvash (Coral).
Sailor's Pro Gear fountain pen is a comfortable mid-sized pen, small enough to fit in a pocket but long enough for comfortable everyday use. It's got a classic shape with a flat-top cap and a round barrel and grip, and comes with a converter and ink cartridges to get you started. Sailor makes their gold nibs in-house, and they're known for being exceptionally precise, with a unique feedback sensation. (Note that they run on the fine side, like other Japanese fountain pen nibs.)
