In a quiet, open landscape with a beautiful view, the world of Hiroko Kubota shines with originality, beauty, and unique ideas. This time, one of Kubota’s works has been turned into a cover for a Hobonichi 5-Year Techo.

To be worthy of something that you will keep for 5 years, it’s made to keep sparking your interest. Every time you inspect it closely, you will discover something fresh and new about the design. After many thoughtful exchanges with Kubota, Hobonichi incorporated a variety of subtle, creative touches to this cover.

Each left-hand page shows the same date across 5 years, and the right-hand page has free space you can fill in. Each daily entry comes with a modest 178 squares for a lower bar for keeping up with entries. The book spans January 1, 2026 to the end of 2030 for a total of five years. The calendars are Monday-start. The book is bound like a dictionary or bible so you can use it without a cover.

The 5-Year Techo features a page design where you can record five years' worth of the same date on each spread. The left side lines up the same date across five years, and the right side has a grid pages for notes.
